Lou Jean Littlepage

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Littlepage at her home in Henderson, KY. Lou Jean passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the age of 89 under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. Lou Jean married her husband in 1956 in Henderson, KY. She was a beautician for many years in a shop she shared with several friends. They spent many good times there laughing and talking with their many clients. Later, she was a school bus driver for the Henderson County School System for nearly 25 years. She was a member of Cairo United Methodist Church since 1955 and was a very active parent volunteer in the HCHS school system. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #186. Her family called her the best wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Her kitchen with the large picture window where she enjoyed watching her birds was always open to her family and grandchildren. She was a content, gentle soul and a mother to all. She loved life, her family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Elijah L. and Maurine Melton; her son Charlie Littlepage; her sister Sue Marie Melton; 3 infant siblings; her twin grandsons, Wesley Ray and Kevin Lee Brantley, and her half- sister Elizabeth Melton Wilson. Mrs. Littlepage is survived by her husband Charles Ray Littlepage, daughter and two sons; Terri Childress (Craig) and Sammy Littlepage (Bobbi), both of Henderson, KY, and Al Joe Littlepage (Julie) of Eddyville, KY. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Lou Jean’s Life Celebration from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5th, 2022, at the funeral home with Reverend Bret Eblen officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
